Background
Mountain View School District (MVSD) contacted CDW to inquire if they could save money on their existing on-premise hypervisor solution if they moved to Google Cloud Platform.
Challenge
The customer uses Google Workspace today, and has an existing small GCP footprint from past projects, as well as an on-premise server virtualization solution. They came to CDW asking how they could reduce their cost for existing virtualization solution.
Solution
CDW created a solution specific to MVSD’s requirements, working with the customer to perform a cost analysis for running their servers in Google Cloud, cost to perform the migration based on the customers’ requirements and CDW best practices, and providing managed service to perform the day-to-day operations of securing, monitoring, and optimizing their GCP environment.
The result
CDW built a secure Google Cloud environment to host MVSD's servers, performed migration, and provides all day-2 operations support for their new environment. The migration not only reduced the monthly cost of running their existing environment, but allows their current IT staff to focus on other projects for the school district, knowing that CDW was taking care of the day-to-day support.
